I have had numerous close calls over the years but, as far as wardrobe malfunctions go, have had only one major and utterly embarrassing one. This all began with this complete outfit I had purchased from a lingerie catalog from a company in California. The whole outfit was inexpensive and consisted of a blue denim mini dress, a blue denim thong, garter belt and blue denim pumps. Also, blue/black stockings came with it. Who is going to wear a bra with a strapless mini dress? Well, the price was right but the quality was miserable. I wore the denim pumps one or two times with jeans and not the rest of the outfit, and to my disgust, they began to literally fall apart on my feet! This should have been a warning to me but, since I liked the outfit that i have yet to wear, I sent the shoes back for an exchange. I finally did decide to wear that entire outfit one evening as I had saved it for a special night out with my husband and, from the moment I put it on, little did I know that disaster was only an hour away. As it was a strapless mini dress, it had to be snug in order to stay up and in place and that full length rear zipper, which ran from the bottom of the rear hem to the top of the dress, did not seem to be of the best quality. My rather large bust size did not give that zipper a moment of rest either. Anyhow, fears and concerns aside, I got into it and we went out to this informal restaurant to eat.It was early evening, just past dusk, when we arrived and had to park pretty far out in the parking lot. We got out of the car and walked no more than a few feet when something felt odd on one of my feet. I looked downward, lifted my foot a bit to see what the problem was, when the unthinkable happened. I felt a snap!, followed by a sudden feeling of my dress moving. You guessed it. The zipper slide on my dress popped off , the dress completely opened up and fell to the floor! I was completely mortified, quickly threw my hands over my boobs and, with my husband grabbing me by the arm, made a very quick dash for the car. Just as He was opening the door for me and I was getting in, another car parked right next to us. I do not know if they seen much or even anything at all, but I was terrified and could not wait until we got out of that parking lot and on our way home. We often joke about that incident, but I will never buy another outfit until I have had the chance to try it on.
